AGRO INDUSTRIES
As an ardent follower of Sant Tukaram, he was very influenced by the practices of protecting and upholding the ecosystem. Shri Subhash Deshmukh (Bapu)had a zealous heart with regards to the plantation of trees, encouraging and pledging that people follow his example.
One of the major contributions of Shri Subhash Deshmukh in the field of agriculture is the establishment of the Shri Ram Institute in Solapur in the year 1997. This institute set about to spark the agricultural revolution in this small city.
The Institute was something that was always on Bapu’s mind and with the cooperation of his activist friends, it was finally brought into existence.
The Institute was involved in the research and gathering information regarding agricultural practices and techniques, that were used around the world. After conducting research through the Institute, he educated the farmers with these new found techniques that would benefit them in a great way.
Bringing it to new heights, the Institute has recently tied up with Israel and runs a very successful student exchange program.
EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTION
Apart from the many institutions setup, Bapu takes special interest in students and teachers who show exceptional passion in their respective streams. He adopts these people as his own and provides them to the best of his abilities.
Bapu believes that education is of grave importance to the society, and is necessary for the upliftment of the poor. To further capture children’s curiosity for knowledge and promote it, he has started several institutions and education centers.
He believes that in order to benefit the future of Solapur, it is important that the youth themselves are responsible for the development and growth. Keeping in the mind the economic condition of some of the people in the society, Shri Subhash Deshmukh set aside to take on the project of making education available to all.
BANKING AND FINANCE
One of the first and foremost works of the Lokmangal Group was to establish a centre for financial aid for development of the people.The Cooperative Bank filled this gap perfectly.
The Cooperative Bank was established in April 1998, and now provides credit and fulfills the banking needs of the community, particularly farmers. This arose in a time of great need for the rural sector of our state. Cooperative movements have redefined the outcome of the rural economy in Maharashtra. The Lokmangal Cooperative Bank has understood the important role it plays in the society & is constantly implementing its revolutionary principles through the varied community development activities.
It set the change that Bapu would bring about in the state, in the years to come.
